In what cases is engine assembly required?
Engine assembly (colloquially "engine rebuilding") is the removal of the engine from the vehicle, disassembly, measuring each part and reassembling it according to factory tolerances. It comes to the fore in the following situations:
- Excessive fat burning, blue smoke and constant fat loss
- Low compression, loss of power, stalling and idling disorder
- Bending of the cylinder head or burning gasket after overheating
- Crank, piston or liner damage; grinding noises and metallic clicking
- Valve hitting pistons after chain/belt breakage
Any guess made before the engine is turned on is an assumption. That's why our order is always the same: measurement, then decision.
From disassembly to delivery: Engine assembly in 6 steps
- Diagnosis: fault record reading, live data, compression and leak tests.
- Disassembly and disassembly: The engine is removed from the vehicle, disassembled, and each part is labeled.
- Measurement: Cylinder, piston, crank and cover measurements are taken; wear limits are reported.
- Machining (cylinder head): If necessary, cylinder honing, cover grinding and valve operations are performed.
- Assembly: Assembly is done with original or approved parts, in accordance with the torque values.
- Delivery and running-in: first start-up, control, running-in and warranty certificate delivery.
Which part has been replaced and which has been saved by measurement is shown in photographs and in writing. We do not start the process without approval.
How long does it take, what does it depend on?
Duration; Varies depending on engine type (TSI, TDI, MPI), depth of fault and parts supply time. A simple cover procedure takes days, a full revision takes weeks. Since most of the parts are in our stock and in our supply network, waiting time in Antalya is shortened.
The two most critical points in engine assembly are: accuracy of measurement and cleaning. The engine collected without measurement is disassembled a second time; This doubles both cost and time.
Which brands and engines do we work on?
Mainly VAG group: Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat. We have 25 years of field experience in 1.0–2.0 TSI/TFSI, 1.6–2.0 TDI, MPI engines and DSG transmissions. Since we carry out engine and transmission works in the same workshop, the transmission side is also checked during engine assembly.
What does the warranty cover?
In engine reassembly we give a 5,000 km engine warranty — for labour and spare parts, in case of a manufacturing or workmanship defect, replacement applies. Damage caused by third-party intervention or installation error, overheating or unsuitable fuel is excluded. The warranty scope varies depending on the operation performed and is notified in writing upon delivery; break-in rules (first 1,000 km) are given in writing.
